How long can you store contact lenses if the package were not open or even wear it?

So, I have monthly contact lenses that been in a seal package. I have not open the seal package or wear the contacts. Can I still wear them now? I think I got my contact a half year ago from my doctor. Thank for the help.

Generally the guarantee period for contacts which have not been opened is 3 years , but it can vary from different manufactures .If your prescription keeps the same during the period ,you can still wear them . But if you wear monthly or yearly disposable contacts , no matter how many times you wear , you should abandon them when it reaches their scheduled date .
