can my crossed eyes be fixed after 3 failed attempts as a child?

I had 3 surgeries as a child the first I wasn't even a week old. my parents said you couldn't even see the pupil of my eye only the white part. the second I was about 1 or 2 years old. and the 3rd I was 5 or 6. I went to a special hospital in Boston cant remember the name. I'm 38 years old now and I really want this fixed. my left eye turns in towards my nose and when I'm tired or the lights are bright my pupil disappears completely. this disturbs many people I work with including my self as I'm afraid to look people in the eyes. many think I have autism because of this. My parents told me that after my last surgeries the DR. told them I could never have any more attempts since their are not enough muscles left in the eye to cut. many eye DR love when I come in for glasses they always ask if their interns can come and look since im classic example they say. I use one eye to look in one direction and the other to look in the oppisit direction. but they all said the same thing. the all surgeries would do is destroy any depth perception I have left? any thaughts or advice. sorry for the log post
