Are you sure you can make your prescription glasses into a pair of sunglasses? I have never heard about that. But I think you can have the lenses coated so that they can prevent UV rays for you as long as they are new lenses and the optician would like to do that for you.

If you mean you want to get a pair of prescription sunglasses, you can buy a pair of prescription sunglasses. They can correct your vision problems and block UV rays for you. And there are difference between Plano sunglasses and prescription sunglasses. Prescription sunglasses have degrees in their lenses while Plano sunglasses are designed for those who don't have any vision problems. If the degrees of the sunglasses are too strong, the people who don't have vision problems can definitely feel the difference.

If you don't have any vision problems, you can feel the difference between a pair of plano sunglasses (has no degrees) and the sunglasses with a degree. Because wearing any glasses that are not fit for your eyes will lead to headaches and sometimes even vomit.

I think you can't make your prescription glasses a pair of sunglasses. The lenses of glasses are usually transparent. But sunglasses have tinted lenses. This kind of lenses can make our eyes feel more comfortable. So I think your glasses are not real sunglasses though you will have them coated. If you need a pair of sunglasses, you can buy a pair of sunglasses in any eyeglasses stores or online stores. The sunglasses sold online are cheaper than that sold in any physical shops. Good luck!
