What is the vision requirement for a corrections officer?

My current vision is 20/20 in my left eye and 20/200 in my right eye. Am I still qualified to become a corrections officer?

I think you'd better confirm at your local police station. But as I know that you should be at a perfect vision, if your vision is under the 20/20, you have to wear eyeglasses or contact lenses to perfect your vision.

Peripheral vision is important for corrections officer. The corrections officer must not only have the ability to see clearly objects and surroundings for 36 inches or closer but also have the ability to see clearly objects and surroundings for six feet or further away. What's more, they must have the ability to tell the difference between two or more colors. If kyou want to know the exact vision, you should check out at your local police station.
