Generally an eyeglass prescription is effective for one year, somtimes longer. If your vision get worsening in both eyes or either eye, you should hava an eye examination, Then your doctor may check to see if you need a new pair of glasses or of there is other eye diseases that need requirment.

It is advised to have an eye exam once a year to see whether your prescription has changed or you have got other eye problems. If your vision doesn't change, you can keep your glasses for a longer time.

If my vision doesn't change, I won't replace my glasses. Sometime I wear a pair of glasses for 2-3 years. So it just depends on your own conditions.
