Astigmatism is a common eye problem which can be easily corrected by wearing eyeglasses, contact lenses and having lasik surgery. Astigmatism is a type pf refractive error that occurs in an eye which is not completely round. It is common and manu people suffer from this, even people have no nearsightedness or farsightedness.

Astigmatism is not harmful to your eyes, which can be corrected with corrective lenses or lasik surgery, but it cannot be removed naturally. Astigmatism occurs when the cornea is a oval or oblong shape not a round shape, so the light rays will focus on two points in the back of your eye and make your vision blurry.

No,it is not eye disease and can't be harmful to your eyes.Just like the nearsightedness or farsightedness, you can correct it by wearing glasses or contacts, but they have no effect on the astigmatism itself.
