What would the doctors do to perform a lazy eye test?

How can they detect that you have lazy eyes? Do they also dilate your eyes?

    At first, the doctor will ask you to follow his fingers with your both eyes. Then he will ask you to cover each eye and let them perform separately. And then he will detect whether you have lazy eyes.

    They will look at your pupil reflex alignment with a penlight, check alignment with cover/uncover testing, sometimes Maddox rod testing if you have one. see if there is a refractive error or if the best corrected vision is limited.
