Why can't we have monovision in our glasses?

We can have monovision in contact lenses, but Why can't we have monovision in our glasses?

    If you use monovision in glasses, it may cause unequal image sizes in your two eyes which cause serious problems. I've never heard that people use monovision in the glasses. You'd better consult your doctor about this.

    There is no need to use monovision glasses because the progressive glasses enable us to see both near and far. You will have much more satisfactory vision with progressive lenses or even bifocals.
