Can eye freckle be a sign of colon cancer?

I have been told by my eye doctor there is a freckle in my eye and someone tell me it may be a sign of colon cancer. What is the link between eye freckle and colon cancer?

It may sound unbelievable, but when the freckle has a certain appearance and is found in a certain number, evidence shows that it’s highly associated with a specific syndrome of colon polyps. A later study found that CHRPE has a “statistically significant” correlation with hereditary colon polyps known as familial adenomatous polyposis, or FAP. It may be that the freckles are caused by the same genetic mutation that produces the polyps.
