Once you have got cataract surgery, the cataract won't go back again because the lens has been removed. However, some people have extracapsular surgery or phacoemulsification, so the posterior capsule is left and becomes cloudy over time, which has the same vision problems as a cataract does.

Cataract won't reappear after cataract surgery. However, some people may find that they have the same symptoms as cataract does. In fact it is not caused by cataract, but lens capsule which is left during cataract surgery and become cloudy over time.

Genearlly cataract will not occur after it is removed. Once the lens has been completely removed, a cataract cannot form on the implanted lens. It is important to note, however, that lens capsule (the tissue bag surrounding the replacement lens) can become clouded over time and can mimic symptoms of a cataract. In these cases, a very simple outpatient procedure called a YAG laser capsulotomy is needed to create a hole for light to pass through the lens again
