Is there anydifferent between photochromic lenses and color-tinted eyeglasses lenses?

I want my eyeglasses to have brown color when outdoors. But I don't know which one I should choose because I cannot figure out the differences between them.

    Yes. They are different. Tinted eyeglasses lenses are colored all the time, while photochromic lenses can chnage the color when Uv rays hit the lenses. So photochromic lenses can change to clear when you are indoors and change to dark when you are outside. So if you only want your glasses to have brown color when outdoors, you'd better choose photochromic lenses.

    Tinted glasses have the tints on the surface of the lenses, while photochromic lenses have the special substance in the lenses which make the lenses change its color when exposed to UV rays. If you want your glasses to have brown color when outdoors, photochromic lenses will meet your needs.
