Will boxing cause retinal detachment?

I am planning to take part in boxing as a sport. But I have high prescription with one eye -8.00 and the other eye -6.00. Is it safe for me to participate in boxing? Can boxing cause retinal detachment?

    People with high myopia have a higher risk of retinal detachment. Boxing is a very dangerous sport which can cause injury easily and the injuries caused by boxing can lead to retinal detachment. It is more dangerous for people with high myopia to get injured from boxing and lead to retinal detachment.

    Boxing is a very dangerous contact sports. People are easy to get injured in the eye during the sport. Theses injuries caused by boxing can lead to retinal detachment. What's more, you have high myopia which makes you at a higher risk of retinal detachment. So before you take part in boxing, you should consult your doctor.

    As we all know that boxing is a kind of combat spot in which two people are punching at each other. It is easy for one people to be punched. So boxers are more prone to having retinal detachments. Head trauma can shake the retina loose and cause it to tear.
