What is the difference between a comprehensive eye exam and a routine eye exam?

  I guess maybe the procedure is different ? A comprehensive eye exam includes Visual acuity tests,Color blindness test Cover test,Retinoscopy,Refraction,Autorefractors and aberrometers,Slit-lamp examination,Glaucoma test (tonometry),Pupil dilation,Visual field test.

  I think there are some differences between. The first on will cost you more while the second will cost you less. And procedures are a little different.

  I think they are not exactly the same. A comprehensive eye exam can provide with a thorough check for your eyes, but a routine eye exam may have less procedures. In china, routine means you will be less devotedly and absentminded when you are doing something.

  No. they are not the same. Comprehensive exams ICD code 92004 or 92014. Comprehensive exams have a specific amount of information, tests and a diagnostic or treatment plan if you are suffering from some kind of eye problems.

  The code of a comprehensive exam is submitted to your health insurance plan. while a routine eye exam don't have that code.

  A comprehensive eye exam and a routine eye exam have many same elements. But I think a comprehensive eye exam will be better if they charge you the same price. My doctor told me that a routine eye exam might not include a dilated retinal examination or scanning, visual field or other sophisticated testing. The people often apply for a routine exam when they find that the issues are obvious or they just had a comprehensive exam recently.
