What are the risk factors for eye floaters?

Both of my parents have eye floaters and i am afraid i will get it too. What are the risk factors for eye floaters?

    Vitreous liquefaction and posterior dislocation are the main reasons of the floaters, 70% patients are result from these reasons. Floaters often occur for people who are over 40 years old, as well as people who had cataract surgery, and other people who have some diseases such as intraocular inflammation or retinal vascular lesions. Floaters is not hereditary, you should pay attention to your eye health and diet, strengthen health care. So you should not worry about you may have floaters, it is not a genetic disease.

    If you have nearsightedness, or myopia, you may in the risks for eye floaters. That often occurs to people with strong myopia. Besides, for people with Diabetes, they may also development of eye floaters because the increasing of their diabetic retinopathy. Aside from above vision problem and diseases, get eye injury is also a risk factor of eye floaters. Though those eye floaters are not dangerous itself, it may contribute some serious vision problems. So be careful.

    The eye floater is a normal condition that almost everyone has it when looking at light background, such as white wall. Eye floaters are tiny particles of debris around the eyeball. When getting more eye floaters than normal, seeing them on dark background or losing peripheral vision or darkness, you should pay attention to it. In order to keep a low quantity of eye floaters, you had better eat more vegetables and fruits with more vitamin A and C as well as drink more water. Because diabetes would cause the eye floater, you have to do excise to keep weight, so that can strengthen your eyes.

    Don't worry. Eye floaters can be annoying, but by themselves they are not dangerous. Factors that may increase your risk of floaters include: age over 50, nearsightedness, eye trauma, complications from cataract surgery, diabetic retinopathy and inflammation in the eye. Most eye floaters are caused by normal aging changes in the eye. If you feel a curtain or cloud in the vision or a loss of side vision, there may be something wrong with your retinal and you should go to the doctor to have a check. So take good care of you eyes when they are still healthy, which will reduce the chance to get eye floaters.
