Why does edgar davids alway wear a pair of strange glasses while playing football?

The edgar davids style glasses looks strange. But it looks cool. Why does edgar davids wear it? Will it make him play better in competition?

    As I know, Edgar Davids suffers glaucoma, so he must wear the goggle. Because of this pair of different goggle and his perennial constant hair style, he becomes a very impressive player in the ground.
