Do reading glasses help when watching tv too or is that too far away?

my eyes sometimes start to hurt when playing video games or watching tv would my reading glasses help me there? how far away are they supposed to be used? for me it seems like they just slightly enlarge and clarify everything within eye shot in my apartment, they dont give that effect of blurring things at a distance like stronger reading glasses do.

No. reading glasses cannot help when watching TV because reading glasses are used for close up work, like reading or sewing. While you sit too far when you watch TV. If you find things blurry while watching TV, then glasses for distance is needed because you may suffer myopia. In this case, you'd better go to see an eye doctor and have an eye exam. Then the doctor will prescrible a pair of glasses that fit you properly.

If you can watch TV with your reading glasses, you can do that. But if there are some discomforts caused by reading glasses, you'd better take off them.

If you can't see things clearly in the nearby and in the distance, you may need to buy a pair of multifocal glasses. There are 3 pairs of focal powers in the lenses. So they can help correct both nearsightedness and farsightedness.

reading glasses can help correct presbyopia. The people who have presbyopia can't see things in the nearby clearly. They can't read a book. They must hold a book at an arm's length to read them. If you have some problem with playing computer games and watching TV, you'd better buy a pair of computer glasses for they can help block computer reflections and filter glare. Your will suffer from less eye fatigue.
