When you suffer some eye disease, you must find which kind of disease you have suffered. If you are a person who got myopia, and you have your description, this time you feel blur with your vision with no pain of inflammation even other discomfort on your eyes, you'd better go to a optometrist to test your vision; but, if your vision is good but you find the eyes dry and pain even turn to red, that will be some infection on your eyes, this time I will recommend you to ophthalmologist directly. Anyway, if you actually do not know what's wrong with your eyes totally, go to ophthalmologist at first, what the hell what's wrong with your eyes, description or infection; he will give the suggestion about how to do.

The content of their jobs is similar which is related with eyes. However, their job nature is different. An optometrist is the one who gives you the exam test. You can find an optometrist in the hospital or the eyeglasses store. When you want to buy a pair of eyeglasses, you may go to see the optometrist to have a clear check on your vision. An ophthalmologist is a doctor who mainly takes the responsibility of finding whether your eyes are healthy. When you feel silk in eyes, you should go to see the ophthalmologist to accept the treatment.

An ophthalmologist is a medical doctor (MD) or an osteopathic doctor (DO) who specializes in eye and vision care. Ophthalmologists are trained to perform eye exams, diagnose and treat disease, prescribe medications and perform eye surgery. They also write prescriptions for eyeglasses and contact lenses.
