Yeah, usually the people with high prescription have more possibility of getting the retinal detachment because of the too thin corneal. And these kind of people should not do the fierce activities in avoid of the retinal detachment. However, common running will be OK which you should put the relax. But the fast running or the sprint may cause the retinal detachment which you should take care of.

As you described, you have high prescription. So, you are in high risks of retinal detachment. But i still can't tell you will running can cause you retinal detachment because it depends on how strength you running. If you just running slowly for while, it is ok and won't cause retinal detachment. But if you running seriously for a long time, it may cause retinal detachments. In fact, retinal detachment often occurs to people with high myopia but still enjoy fierce sports. So, take good care of yourself.

Well, I can see that you are really into having physical exercise such as running, and you are worried about the risk of retinal detachment. So, what I am trying to tell you is that, if, your sports is not intensive and high-strung, it would be ok, such as jogging, which is also helpful for your health. On general, people would not get retinal detachment through having regular exercises, rather than bungee jumping or something. So, you will be fine as long as you pay due attention to your eyes.

Generally speaking, I think running can not lead to retinal detachment. So you should not worry about it too much. You should know that there are many factors which can lead to retinal detachment, such as eye injury, severe high blood pressure. But on the other hand, most people with detached retina risk factors will not develop a detached retina. And it is possible that people without risk factors will develop a retinal detachment. If you have some questions about retinal detachments, you can talk with your doctor. He or she can recommend detached retina symptoms to watch for and a schedule for regular eye exams.
