Generally speaking, after the surgery, you are not supposed to wear makeup for the first two week. If you wear makeup which are made of chemicals, it can definitely make your eyes infected and also can lead to some eye diseases, because your eyes are very sensitive and fragile. Besides, after the surgery, you also need to pay more attention to something. For example, it can lead to eye strain, if you overuse your eyes to watch TV or computer. So just avoid them in the first 1week. And, you should avoid eye injuries by wearing a protective shield at night and with naps until you are advised by your doctor. Also, you should remember not sleep on the side of the operated eye for the first night.
There are two kinds of situations which can decide when or how soon you can wear makeup after strabismus surgery. First one is that, your eyes recover well, at least they do not suffer inflammation, then wearing makeup will be appropriate right one month after the surgery.
The second situation however, takes place on condition that inflammation occurs. Therefore you have to not wear any makeup until the phenomenon of inflammation completely disappears.
However, you have to pay more attention to those aspects:
makeup usually needs cleaning, brushing, massaging your faces, inclusive of areas surrounding your eyes, and this obviously can happen to hurt your eyes which are fragile.
You'd better not make up after the strabismus surgery because the material of make up contains the irritating stimulation. Such irritates may cause the discomfort for the eyes. After the surgery, you should protect the eyes from being stimulated, having a good rest for the eyes. Not eat the spicy food, too.
