Well, first, you should know that a cataract is a clouding of the normally clear lens of the eye, which can eventually block the central line of sight and impairs vision. So Cataract surgery is an operation to remove the clouded lens. And it will not take a long time to have the surgery, and just about 1 hour. At the first recovery stage, it can be a little painful, but the pain will disappear. So you should not worry about it. As we know that after the cataract surgery, your eyes can be very fragile, so it can be hurt when you have the exercises. Also, if you use your eyes too much, that will lead to eye strain. And in some cases, it can be dangerous. So you should follow the things the doctor has told you. Besides, For example, you should avoid eye injuries by wearing a protective shield at night and with naps until you are advised by your doctor.

And most of people feel no pain during or after cataract surgery. But patient may suffer a scratchy sensation and mild soreness for about 24 hours after surgery. Currently, the most popular technique of cataract surgery is phacoemulsification technique. Compared with traditional surgery, it has several advantages. The wound of surgery is small. Traditional surgery will cut a 12mm long wound on the skin and the new technique cuts only 3mm. The wound is almost invisible and recovers sooner and better. The surgery takes about 15 to 30 minutes and patient will not fell pain. After surgery, patient can go home in one hour. The do no need to live in hospital for observation. Additionally, this technique is quite mature and safe. Almost all the patients can take the surgery even they suffer high blood pressure, diabetes mellitus or other cardiovascular disease. Upon confirmation of doctor and after taking relevant prevention measure, they can take the surgery to get better eyesight. Thus, all in all, you can have the surgery without worry. It takes less than a class time and it is not painful.

It depends on the degree of the cataract eye surgery. Usually it takes an hour, but sometimes 10-30 minutes is enough. The procedure itself is one of the safest and most commonly performed procedures. This surgery gives you local anaesthetic and you won't feel any pain during the procedure. After the operation, you may get a "foreign body" sensation for a day but no major pain involved. Only there may be minor pain during the healing process. All in all, cataract eye surgery is very secure. Therefore, don't be worried. Just do it.
