Well, as we know that a cataract is a clouding of the normally clear lens of the eye, which can eventually block the central line of sight and impairs vision. So if there are some problems occur on it, you should take surgery to heal it, such as the cataract surgery. In other words, Cataract surgery is an operation to remove the clouded lens. After the surgery, there are many things you should pay attention to. For foods, you should eat foods high in beta-carotene, Vitamin C and Vitamin E. These substances are called antioxidants, and most of the nutritional components of cataract prevention and reversal are related to boosting antioxidant levels. Also, you can eat foods high in antioxidants, which include garlic, onions, beans, vegetables, celery, seaweed, apples, carrots, tomatoes, turnips and oranges. Anyway, just be careful about your eyes, for they are sensitive and fragile, or it can be infected by allergies.

After the cataract surgery, you'd better eat more food with vitamin C and A. The food with vitamin C are fresh jujube, citrus, orange, crabapple, strawberry, kiwi fruit, wild jujube, seabuckthorn, pepper, tomato, spinach, cauliflower, alfalfa and so on. The food with vitamin A are cod liver oil, milk, carrot, apricot, broccoli banana, eggs, pumpkin, leek, mung, bean, celery, mango, ipomoea, spinach, onion, hami, melon and so on. You may eat more food like the above ones.

After a cataract surgery, nutrition in the diets can help heal the eyes. In the daily diets, you can intake elements good for eyes from many aspects. Phylloxanthine and zeaxanthol have a strong effect of antioxidation, they can absorb the harmful rays entering the eyeball and prevent the aging of eyes and postpone the degeneration of vision through their powerful antioxidation to reach the effect of protecting the optimal crystal. Diets that contain rich phylloxanthine and zeaxanthol are greenery vegetables(such as spinach, cabbage, leaf mustard), pumpkin, pea and etc. Vitamin E also has an effect of antioxidation, it can reduce the change and damage caused by oxygen derived free radicals and make biomembrance function well and prolong the aging of the cell. Diets rich of vitamin E are peanut, sesame, lettuce, daylily, lean meat, egg and marine fish, etc.

High intake of fruit and vegetables will help with the healing from cataract surgery. People who eat lots of yellow or dark leafy vegetables as well as foods rich in vitamin E will also be helpful. Lutein and zeaxanthin are the only carotenoids detected in the human lens and these nutrients play a role in preserving lens clarity. Moreover, higher intakes of vitamin C or the combined intake of antioxidants had long-term protective associations against development of nuclear cataract. Hope this helpful.
