Well, yes, too much drink can lead to glassy eyes. And you should know that when a person's eyes appear shiny or have a glassy appearance that means he/she is suffering from glassy eyes. In other words, when someone have glassy eyes, his eyes will have a feeling of listlessness, and the eyes are unfocused, and without any luster. According to some experts, people who are heavy drinkers will have glassy eyes. As we know that drinking alcohol hampers the quality of sleep you get each night, causing restlessness and insomnia. Excessive alcohol consumption may also result in chronic dry, bloodshot eyes as too much drinking leads to dehydration. Glassy eyes are a common result of chronic alcohol abuse. Because of it, it will cause the eyes to become dry, and leading to glassy eyes. so just do not drink too much alcohol. and it can be a long term damage to your eyes.

Yes, drinking too much alcohol will cause your glassy eyes because of the irritating stimulation. You could find that your eyes may have the blurry vision. After drinking too much alcohol, your eyes may get affected. And your glassy eyes will get recovery after several days if you take care of the eyes carefully by eating light food and have the good rest.

Actually, Glassy eyes are usually referred as eyes, that are unresponsive, wide open, less blinking, unfocused and wide pupils. This can be caused by a drugs or toxins or alcohol use that harm the nervous system. Glassy eyes can be seen when you are drunk, and thus they may indicate alcohol consumption. But that is not strong sign for drinking, as they may be caused by drugs. Alcoholism on the other hand is condition known as alcohol dependence syndrome. Symptoms of alcoholism and diagnostic criteria include the behavioral changes followed after the alcohol consumption, not physical signs. As we see drinking and alcoholism are different. Thus glassy eyes can be sign of alcohol consumption (drinking a couple of beers or shots), or any other nervous system intoxication, but not as sign of alcoholism. However, it will disappear when you are not drunk.

Well, it is true that alcohol could bring a lot of problems to us if we have too much of it. After drinking, our nerves could be anaesthetized and our visual nerves too, leading to our glassy eyes for a period of time. But if the problem does not go away, you need to see a doctor. Just try to drink less and care more about your eye health.
