Well, yes uveitis can lead to cataracts. And generally speaking, cigarette smoke, air pollution, and heavy alcohol consumption, especially eye infection can lead to it. On the other hand, infections and trauma can lead to uveitis. So it is possible to have cataracts because of uveitis, which is caused by eye infection.

Yes, it is possible to develop cataracts from uveitis. Uveitis is the inflammation of the middle layer of eyes, which is named as Uvea composed of iris, ciliary body and choroid. Uveitis is classified according to the inflammation part happened in Uvea, including anterior uveitis, intermediate uveitis, posterior uveitis and diffuse uveitis. People might get uveitis from viral, bacteria or fungal infections, injury, or surgery. Many uveitis are chronic, and they are tending to develop some complications, which include cataracts. The uveitis itself and the steroid used to treat eye inflammation can help the development of cataracts. Once cataracts is formed and impaired the vision, a surgery is required to remove the cloudy cornea to restore the vision.

It is possible for you to lead to cataracts because of uveitis. Uveitis refers to the iris ciliary body choroidal inflammation. The iris ciliary body and the blood supply for iris will rise. At the same time, the total inflammation is often called iris ciliary body inflammation if choroid also gets the inflammation. It is called uveitis. In addition, it can cause blindness. However, the cataracts are the unclear lenses which may affect your eyes vision. The unclear lenses caused by the cataracts may lead to your uveitis. You'd better protect the eyes carefully and not let the lenses get unclear. You should not use your eyes too much time every day and have the good rest for the eyes.
