Yes, an optometrist will detect your glaucoma after the eyes exam before you want to have the pair of the eyeglasses. In addition, you'd better go to see the doctor and accept the full check on the eyes to find whether you have the glaucoma or not. Then you could accept the medical treatment as soon as possible. Glaucoma refers to the intraocular pressure intermittently rising. The eye disease intraocular pressure can cause it because of its continued high intraocular pressure. It can give the eye part of the organization and visual function damage. What's worse, it may cause vision loss and narrow view if not treated in time. The vision can be lost. You need to take great notice on the glaucoma which is such a serious eyes disease.

Well, generally speaking, both optometrists and ophthalmologists can be eye doctors to treat glaucoma. But on the other hand, for people with advanced glaucoma, an ophthalmologic glaucoma specialist may be perfect. Also, as we know that glaucoma actually is related to a group of diseases and it can cause damage to the optic nerve as a result of increased pressure within the eye. And also, a severe eye infection, injury, blocked blood vessels or inflammatory conditions of the eye can cause glaucoma in many cases, you need to pay more attention to it. To treat it, just go and see the ophthalmologists.
