General Impression:

I have been going to Murphy,Watson,Burr since I was in jr. high (over 10 years), and now take my daughter there as well. The staff and Doctors are always very friendly and helpful. I have never had a single complaint about their business. I go to Dr. Matthew Honson, and he is a very kind and down-to-earth person who is very professional and precise, yet willing to speak to patients in 'layman terms' without sounding or acting condescending. This means a great deal to me. We recently found out that my 5 year old has quite poor vision in one eye in particular, and they did everything to make her less scared and were very patient with her during her long exam. One of the women in the optical center took a great deal of time happily helping her find the 'perfect pink glasses' that were within our price range. We are medicaid patients, and yet I have never felt that we were treated any differently than other patients. Also,I have a condition called scleritis, which can be very dangerous, but I feel completely comfortable knowing I am in their care. They offer emergency eye exams (we're talking middle of the night) when a serious and immediate situation comes up. I couldn't ask for more for my eyes. Definitely recommend!

  • A pair of sunglasses that are suitable for the wearer can add glamour to over all personality of the wearer. That's why they are so popular. Long time ago, there were limited designs and styles in sunglasses. But with the development of the society, there are more and more sunglasses in fashion. The function of a pair of sunglasses expands. They can protect our eyes from UV rays as well as make us look more outstanding and cool. They are fashion items that can add color to our simplest outfit.

  • Cucumber can treat puffy eyes. You can make cucumber juice to treat your puffy eyes too. Put the cucumber juice into the refrigerator for half an hour and then take it out. Dip a piece of clean cloth into the juice and the wring it until it will not drop water. Then you can cover your puffy eyes with the cloth for several minutes. This can whiten your skin and get rid of dark circles too.

  • I am afraid that there is little possibility that acid reflux causes dry eyes. Dry eyes develop when the eyes do not produce enough tears to keep the surface the eyes lubricate and moist. Air conditioning or a dry heating system in your room can be responsible for your dry eyes, so what you need to do is to place a humidifier in your room to add moisture to the dry air or an air cleaner to filter out dust and other particles in the air. Insufficient blinking can also lead to dry eyes, so you should control your time spent on computer or TV. After staring at a computer or watching TV for about one hour, you need to rest your eyes for 15 to 20 minutes by doing some eye exercises or looking far into the distance. Another cause can be long-term contact lens wear, so you should not wear contacts over 8 hours per day if you did. To relieve such symptoms, artificial tears or eye drops are helpful.

  • It is true that sometimes our pupils would be dilated if we are panicked or surprised by something unexpected you know? And as you are panicked, your brain would give signal to your pupil muscle to make them dilated. But it is not a serious problem if dilated eyes are not generated by other causes.

  • I think there are only two ways for you to get rid of uneven eyes. One is surgery, the other is makeup. If both of your eyes are in different sizes, you can use less mascara and eye liner on the larger one as this will make them look the same size. If one of your eyes is lower than the other, you can simply apply your eye shadow higher to make confine that the height of the eye shadow is the same. Doing this will create a balance for your eyes.

  • Pinhole glasses use the technology to reduce the amount of light getting into the eye, so people will find difficult seeing in the dark or dimly light places with pinhole glasses. So pinhole glasses are not suitable for dark or dimly light places.

  • In spite of adjusting our vision, wearing glasses can make our eye balls out of shape. However it will not cause cataracts as cataracts is a kind of disease led by inter lenticular opacity. Despite of genetic factor, there are following factors can cause the disease: senile cataract (with the generation of metabolism) usually falls into 3 types according to different opacity places: 1.cortical cataract 2.nuclear cataract 3.posterior subcapsular cataract Diabetes can also cause cataracts as it can damage the subtle vessels behind the eyes. Inter eye inflammation like uveitis can also cause the disease. Eye injuries like ocular contusion or erforated foreign body into the lens can be another factor. Other circumstances like corticosteroids, malnutrition, exposure under ultra violet and acute diarrhea can also promote the development of the disease. Hope that will help.

  • Yes, too much rubbing eyes may cause the glaucoma. Glaucoma is a kind of optic nerve damage. This disease is made of many optic nerve fibers. When the pressure inside the eye increases, it can cause nerve fiber to be damaged and visual field defects. The early and mild visual field defects are often difficult to be found, which can lead to the blindness.
