  • About Eyes on Broadway Optometrists

Welcome to Eyes on Broadway. Our practice has been established in Palmerston North since the 1950's, with a few name changes over the years. We have a great location in the middle of Broadway Ave with plenty of parking outside the door. Regular eye checks are important for both the health of your eyes and your visual wellbeing. We pride ourselves on our service and expertise. We strive to give the best in eyecare, products and technology.

We also have a digital retinal camera so we can photograph the back of your eye if necessary as well as an automated visual fields screener. We have recently bought a corneal topographer to analyse accurately the shape of the front of the eye- essentially for our new ortho-k fitting service. We have an onsite lab with the latest in edging technology and online ordering and can offer a 1 hour service for reglazes as well as a full repairs facility.

We offer drivers screening, contact lens fitting and checks, laser surgery assessments and glaucoma checks. There is a government subsidy available for children under 16 if the family has a community services card or the child has a high health user card which totals $281.25 per annum. You just need to bring in your card and we can help with the paperwork.

At the other end of the scale, if you have a super gold card you can get a discount off the cost of your new frames. We have options to suit all budgets, package deals using quality frames, and designer eyewear.

We have a large contact lens base and can access the subsidy available for some wearers with certain eye conditions such as keratoconus.

All enquiries welcome

  • From your description, you still wear your old frames sometimes. Anyway, i never heard that that wearing eyeglasses can cause sneezing. It seems you got a cold. Besides, you need also to find what cause your eyes itchy. Is it caused by dry eyes. If so, i guess you got a cold. If not, you may wear wrong eyeglasses. Anyway, for the sake of your eye health, you'd better get an eye check first.

  • Castor oil has lots of usage, it does can help eyelashes grow. Because it contains vitamin E which is the key elements for eyelashes grow. However, olive oil is better than castor oil. Pasting the olive oil with vitamin E can make your eyelashes grow very fast if you insist on doing that. But they'll stay at a certain point.

  • The eye mucus comes from the tears gland system which is bad for the eyes. Usually it indirectly means the eyes infection. You could use the eyes drops to release the symptom. You could also use the warm compress often to make the eyes feel comfortable. You should not eat the spicy food these days which will intensify the eye mucus.

  • You can try Proclear Multifocal lenses. PC molecules attract and surround themselves with water, promoting an atmosphere where moist and comfortable contact lens wear is possible, cutting down on irritation due to sensitive eyes.

  • If you don't wear glasses when you need, you may have blurry vision when seeing far away and even get a headache in the long time. If you are slightly nearsighted, you don't need wear them all the time and just use them for distance vision.

  • The purpose is to know about the refractive degree of the eyeballs. First of all, the optician should ask about your history of eye disorders. Secondly, the naked eyes will be tested for the distance and near vision, then the perimetry and color vision. And to tell if both eyeballs move the same distance and at the same speed or not. Still, the general inspection of the eye, that is eyelid, eye margin, conjunctiva, cornea, the anterior chamber, pupil, lens, fundus and elementary test of intraocular pressure. After all these tests, the optician will do the optometry, which includes insert optometry and retinoscopy, so that the prescription of your glasses can be determined.

  • I just search it in Google Image. The eyeglasses joe jonas often wearing is just a common pair of black eyeglasses. It is similar to nerd eyeglasses. It is easy to find such style eyeglasses. • Iritis is the same as anterior uveitis which is one of the types of uveitis. Uveitis is defined as the inflammation of the uveal tract which is made up of the iris, the ciliary body and the choroid. Other parts of the eyes such as retina, the optic nerve, the vitreous humor and the sclera can also be affected.
