By OTC reading glasses, we mean those ready-made ones that can suit general customers' visual need. It is a matter of "more or less", instead of "being exact", while prescription reading glasses exactly cater for your every visual need with precise prescription. It will do more good to your visual health, trust me!
Eye twitching is generally known as myokymia. The involuntary muscle contractions cause the eyes to twitch. There are many reasons that cause such an occurrence, including stress, consumption of coffee/tea (caffeine), allergies, alcohol, or the lack of nutritious food. You can treatments them like this: find ways to relax, sleep, improve your diet, Cut out caffeine, alcohol, and tobacco from your diet. Relax your eye muscles, Soak a hand towel in warm water and apply it to your eyes in order to relax the eye muscles. Avoid eye strain, Avoid harsh lighting, television, and computer screens in order to relax the eye muscles.
You'd better get the toner out of the eyes by washing the eyes with clean water. After you clean it out, you'd better use the warm cloth to cover on the eyes to make the eyes get release. Then you could also use some eye drops to make the eyes feel comfortable.
My advice is that it is better for you not to do that. The electromagnetic wave of fluorescent screen, ultraviolet ray, radiation, dazzling colors and infrared ray are really harmful to eyes. Those factors can cause dry eyes, fatigue, blurred vision and even head&neck pain problems.Keep regular break and take good care of your eyes. To protect your eyes, I suggest you to get a pair of computer glasses which can resist radiations. If you have vision problems, you can even get prescription computer glasses to both correct visual acuity and resist radiations. It is really a wonderful product for people today.
If you have vision problem to be corrected, then you need your glasses to be prescribed.
Most lubricating eye drops contain preservative which is not good to your eyes. So it is better to use them when you need. Also too much eye drops will affect the normal producing of tears.
Dry eyes can irritate and increase pressure in the eye, especially when dry eyes cause tired eyes. At that moment, the pressure will damage the optic nerves and cannot keep transmitting signals. Also, high pressure inside the eye is caused by an imbalance in the production and drainage of fluid in the eye. Vitamins can help with reducing eye pressure and exercises also work for it, too.
In most cases, pingueculae and pterygia do not have obvious symptoms. However, they have different signs in some cases. Irritation-caused pinguecula make people feel something in the eye and some pingueculae may become swollen and inflamed, a condition named pingueculitis. Differently, some pterygia become red, large or thick. Large and advanced pterygia may cause corneal distortion and astigmatism.
Yes, your mom is right. As we know, eye makeup is very personal and our eyes are sensitive. Sharing eye makeup, you eyes may get infected. And this will cause cross infection. Some eye disease is not obvious, so you may also catch eye disease. What's more, you may not suitable for others' make up. So you had better use your own.
I read all the replies/suggestions to 'clearbluesky' question and she's not alone on what she experienced. I experienced it as well. I did have a stinging/burning sensation as soon as I placed the cucumber slices on my eyes and had to wash it immediately. I don't have any allergy to cucumbers, I washed it well and didn't use any cutting board, my knife was clean, just washed my face clean, and everything else that I have to do before putting those cucumbers. The area around my eyes especially got sore and had a burning feel to it for sometime. I won't try it again. I know that cucumbers are good for puffy eyes but with this reaction I got, I'd rather try another thing. Anyone has more suggestions?
