Indeed, this frame can be made with progressive or better yet bifocals if you want a lens for distance and intermediate as it has a 35 mm lens height. Hello Yolanda, thank you for your interest in this frame. This frame is of mixed materials, which means it is a mixture of metal and acetate. However, most metal frames will contain nickel which is not suitable for those allergies to certain metals. Our frames that do not contain nickel are Titanium, Acetate, and TR frames.
