  • When you can't see the small letters on your mobile phone or the news papers I think you need to use reading glasses.

  • If you want to get non-prescription reading glasses, then you don't need to have an eye exam and you can buy your reading glasses at any optical store either in your local place or online. There are many online optical stores selling reading glasses. You can go to Walmart, Costco and Firmoo. They have a large range of reading glasses for you to choose. You can try them on at some online optical stores to see whether they are suitable for you.

  • I am also looking for metal frames without the nose pad. I have had these in the past, and they are much more comfortable. If you have any luck finding them, please let me know where

  • You make me feel confused. Why do you have to fake an eye test to get reading glasses? Also there is no way to fake it. There will be a machine shining a light in your eye and they will know what your prescription is.

  • If you need to wear them for near-distance work all day, then it's ok. However, if you need to see far most of the time wearing reading glasses will make your vision blurry cuz the reading prescription is just designed for reading or computer use. Given your situation, i suggest you get your reading glasses online cuz for glasses with same quality, accuracy and fitness, the price online is 50%~90% lower than that in the drug store or in the brick-and-mortar stores. Maybe you can check out http://www.firmoo.com/reading-glasses.html where the reading glasses are priced as low as $8. Hope these will be helpful for you.

  • Yes, i work in front to the computer for more than 8 hrs a day, so i need to wear them. But my computer glasses are only for protecting against the radiation from the computer, they are non prescription.

  • It should depend on what they are used for. If you wear them all day for reading or some close work, it won't make much difference in your vision. But if you wear them for distant vison most of the time, eyesight will be messed up and feel blurry. It is the same as glasses for myopia or hyperopia, only put on them when you need.
