Optical Alternatives is a 5-star Optical Store1 Reviews

When I went to pick up my new eyeglasses at Optical Alternatives the moment I put them on I could see better than I ever have in my entire life. Crystal clear vision with no distortions in the lenses. I can’t tell you what a great experience I had at this store. The staff was very knowledgeable and professional. They helped me choose the style of frame that fit my style. Glenn and Dorothy explained why they liked certain frames on me. When it was time to make the final decision I was confident I was making the right choice, “edgy but not trying too hard” is what they said about my selection. My 23 year old Daughter loves them too and that doesn’t happen often. I would definitely recommend Optical Alternatives!...

This dr's office actually attempted a "bait & switch" on me and then reprimanded me for refusing to allow it!

I scheduled an appt to meet with Dr. Fliegelman at his office in Fairfield, CT. While en route to Fairfield from my home in Stamford I hit traffic due to an accident up the line. Being a courteous individual I called the office to let them know that I may be 10 min late. I was told that’s not a problem but if I arrived any later than that we may have to reschedule. Fortunately, the traffic cleared shortly after my call and I made it to the office less than 4 minutes late. Then the fun began! I patiently waited in the office for close to 50 minutes but figured these things happen. Finally, I was called into the office and told that one of Dr F’s fellow doctors, NOT Dr F himself, would be in to see me shortly.
"But I made my appt with Dr Fliegelman?" I protested
    "Yes, well he is...

  • Maybe it is because you can't put them into the correct position. If they are in the right position, it is probably caused by the bigger of basic curve. If the number of basic curve is bigger, then the lens is flatter and in this case the lens will slip so that you can feel the lenses moving in your eyes.

  • Progressive lenses have many focal points so you can just move the eyes at all directions until you find the focus to view the objects clearly. Progressive lenses allow you to gradually focus from distant objects to intermediate distance and then near objects. So you can use progressive glasses to work on computer.

  • Goggles have straps while sunglasses have temple arms. Goggles are sealed so they are less-effective for ventilation than sunglasses. Goggles protect our eyes from being damaged by wind, water and chemicals while sunglasses protect our eyes from being damaged by harmful rays. However, they can both be prescribled.

  • No. contact lenses would not be thicker if you have stronger prescription, instead Focal length of contact lenses decreases.

  • You can search online, buy them at Walmart or go to the brick and mortar store.

  • It is not recommended to use contact lenses that are out of date. Because the cotact lenses are much easier to be infected during long time of use and there is possiblity that the bacterial stay on the surface of the lenses so as to cause eye diseases.
