    1.Harvard Square Eye Care

    Cambridge, MA 02138

Harvard Square Eye Care is a 5-star Optical Store1 Reviews

I have had such a wonderful experience at the Harvard Square Office. I have been going there for over two years now and Dr. Dickerman is the only one who has been able to get my prescription right, unlike when I was a patient at Mass General Eye Care. From the minute you walk in and see Mary’s warm smile to the time you walk out is a very pleasant experience. The staff’s care and professionalism is remarkable. I was in the office just today because I dropped my glasses and the lens popped out. Within just a few minutes they were fixed and I was ready to go! Harvard Square Eye Care has proven to be definitely a class act!...

  • Not all computer glasses have the anti-glare coating. But if you need, you can ask the optician to add it to your glasses lens. Then you should pay extra money for the money, but it won't cost you too much.

  • It is good for you to wear big hat when gardening, but the large hat can only block part of the UV rays. It is better to equip yourself with 100% UV protection sunglasses to protect your eyes. Too much UV rays can contribute to causing cataracts and macular degeneration.

  • Make sure your eyes won't be allergic to the eye drops that you are using. Then remember not to let the dropper touch your eye, or your eyes will get infected.

  • Many insurance companies will make a list of eye doctors who will accept the insurance on their websites. So you can go to the website where you get your insurance and then you can find out the doctor that accept your vision insurance.

  • Polycarbonate is a safe material for goggles because they are impact resistant so they can protect the eyes from getting injured.

  • It is impossible to change the sunglasses lenses to be prescripted without replacing the lens. If you really love the style, you can keep the frame and ask the optician to put new prescription lenses in it. Most optical store can do that for you if the frame is not excessively big.

  • Most sunglasses have UV protection to some degree. But if the lens is marked poycarbonate or polarized, it can give 100% UV protection. Many cheap sunglasses use a material called triacetate which can absorbs only about 40 percent of the UV rays. So to make sure your sunglasses give 100% UV protection, you'd better purchase them from reputable companies.

  • You can get non-prescription reading glasses from most optical store, and it is quite easy to find them. But it is not suggested to get the non prescription ones if you are also nearsighted cuz non prescription reading glasses are made with the same power in both lenses. They are suitable for people whose eyes have the same power in both eyes. However, most people have different unique prescription. So the non prescription reading glasses may not fit your prescription and you may get a headache if wearing them too long. It is better to get prescription reading glasses based on your prescription.
