The Add, short for Reading Addition, is the additional correction required for reading.

Ordering reading glasses at firmoo is easy! Once you have selected a frame, click “Select Lenses” and follow the below steps:

1. The first step is entering your Add.
Sometimes opticians use the word 'Add' or 'Near' instead of 'addition'. They may only write it once, but it normally applies to both eyes and is almost always the same value for both eyes (e.g. 'Add' +2.50 - should be entered for both eyes).

FYR:
Age Add Power
35-39 Plano
40-44 +1.00
45-49 +1.50
50-54 +2.00
55-59 +2.50
60-64 +3.00

2. Next, you will need to input a Near Single or Dual PD (pupillary distance) under the Pupillary Distance.

For a Single PD, if you were only given one PD measurement, it is most likely for distance so you will need to subtract 3 to calculate your near single PD.

If you were given a dual PD, two numbers - one for the right and left eye, you'll need to subtract 1.5mm from each number to calculate the near dual PD. Ex. If given PD= 63mm then Near PD= 60mm.

3. The last step is to choose "Single Vision" ,"Near(Reader)" and the lenses you want to add.
