Is it possible to buy a pair of sunglasses then make them prescription lens?

You can buy prescription sunglasses, but is it possible to buy a normal lens pair of sunglasses take them to an opticians to give them your personal lens, while maintaining the tint and shape of the original pair of sunglasses? Do you think this would be expensive, if possible?

IT depends what kind of your sunglasses is.cuz the frame of sunglasses is usually bigger than prescription ones . You may change it to the clip-on sunglasses which combine the two different lenses in one frame .they can not only serve as the regular sunglasses to prevent sunglight ,they can also be used as the prescription glasses. When you go outside, you can turn down the clip ons to protect your eyes from the sunlight and UV ray; when you come back indoors, you just turn up the clip ons and see objects through the prescription eyeglasses

What do you mean by maintaining the tint and shape of the original pair of sunglasses? If you want to keep the lenses of the original sunglasses, there is no way to make a pair of prescription sunglasses for you because the prescription lenses have degrees on the lenses so that they can help correct your vision problems. The optician has to change the lenses for you to make your normal sunglasses a pair of prescription sunglasses.

Why not buy a pair of prescription sunglasses online so that you won't need to change the lenses of the sunglasses. I think if you buy a pair of sunglasses and then replace their lenses will cost you more, while buying a pair of prescription sunglasses online will save your money. A pair of normal sunglasses will cost you less money when compared with a pair of prescription sunglasses. But if you buy a pair of normal sunglasses and then buy a pair of prescription lenses, this will cost you more than just a pair of prescription sunglasses.
