Here are the common childhood diseases: First, acute conjunctivitis, which is commonly known as "red eye", it is highly infectious. It should be treated timely to prevent cross-infection. Second, congenital dacryocystitis, one or both eyes in tears or even have pus. It should go to hospital for treatment. Third, congenital ptosis, it has genetic factors, and should have a surgery to correct. If the upper eyelid covers more than half of the pupil, it needs to have early treatment, in order to prevent amblyopia. If it is not serious, for cosmetic purpose, you can have elective surgery. Fourth, pediatric strabismus, there are many kinds of strabismus, and the most common is eye inward deflection, medically known as esotropia. It should be treated early. Fifth, pediatric ocular trauma, it mainly lies in prevention.

In general, there are many common eye disorders, which can be seen in early stage normally. In other words, young kid would easier get some eye disorders and treat them as well. Firstly, the lazy eyes are also called amblyopia, which means the both eyes have different quality of vision. It's common to see it in young kids who are under 12. The best way to treat it is wearing eye patch for 3 to 4 hours daily and keep it for one to two weeks. And the crossed eyes associated with the lazy eyes, which has another name of strabismus. It occurs when the kid couldn't focus on the same object by both eyes at the same time. Because of the nerve of controlling eye muscle is weak. It had better combine utilize eye drop and wear glasses to treat the crossed eyes. Another one is color blindness, which means the people; especially the young infant couldn't distinguish colors, especially red, green and blue. Due to the retina couldn't correct process color to the brain to identify the color. However, there is no effective way to treat the color blind; the color-corrective lenses could be helpful to improve the color vision only. Additionally, the pink eye (conjunctivitis) occurs when the eyelid and white part of the eye are infected by foreign materials, such as virus, bacteria, allergy and others to cause inflammation of the eye. It's one most of common eye disorders for school-aged children. The eye drop could be the most effective way to treat the pink eye and remember doesn't rub eyes with unclear fingers as well. Last but not the least, farsightedness or hyperopia is frequently occurs when the young kids have difficult to see the nearby objects. The light would focused on behind of the retina instead of on it to lead to hyperopia. It's easy to treat with corrective glasses and contact lenses.

Myopia is a more common disease happen to kids. The children's myopia is usually affected by genetic impact. According to statistics, if both parents are nearsighted, the proportion that child has the myopia is about 59%. If only one of the parents has myopia, then the ratio is 32% of children suffering from myopia. Parents find the child can not see things clearly, then they immediately take their children to have glasses, this is a misunderstanding. Here I can tell you an illness of eye that can not easily be seen through the appearance of the disease. It is visually called amblyopia. Amblyopia can be divided into strabismus amblyopic, Non-face amblyopic, anisometropic amblyopic and form-deprived myopia.

More and more children tend to get myopic eye. Most part reason of it are the heredity. Based on data, if both parents are nearsighted, their child has 59 percent to be myopic. If one of the parents is, the rate decline to 32. So when the kids are found to see objects vaguely and obscurely, take him/her to see the eye doctor instead of the optician first. In many cases, the children are easily to get the amblyopia. And the amblyopia includes the anisometropic amblyopia, strabismic amblyopia, pseudomyopia and true myopia. From above information I give we can see that parents should pay attention to children's eye protection. Guarantee the nutrition of kid's intake food. More protein and vitamins, more better. Fresh vegetables like greens, carrots, etc and fruits and pig liver are also the other choices for kids to develop a good habit of daily diet. Besides, let kid know the importance of eye health. If children with eye problems, the first steps to see ophthalmologists for a detailed check (including eyeball, eyelid and eyesight) for his/her case.
