Well, yes, it is possible to have swelling eyes after you have got the eye surgery. For your situation, you should know that after you have the surgery, your eyes will be more sensitive than the normal ones. So when your eyes have been infected by irritants, it can lead to swollen eyes, making your eyes swelling. To treat it, you can try some strawberry jam. Also, you can use cool used tea bags. By the way, the cucumber slices with coolness can reduce circulation, and it can be effective too. Also, you should know that after the surgery, you should avoid some eye infection, and some heavy exercises.

After the strabismus surgery, there may be some side effects. Your swelling eyes could be treated with warm compress which could make your eyes feel comfortable. You could also use some eye drops to get rid of the bacterium in the eyes. I strongly suggest you to use the medical treatment to cure your swelling eyes which could be quick.

Well, it is true that sometimes strabismus surgery could leave some lasting impacts on your eyes, because there might be some infections, which could generate swelling eyes. So, it would be wise for you to take some eye drops and pills under the doctor's directions. Maybe a week or two later, your eyes would be fine.
