People are recommended drink eight to ten glasses of water per day to meet our body's requirement, if not, people tend to be mildly dehydrated. Dehydration may lead to many side effects. Directly, it can lead to dry month, hunger and fatigue. Headache, decreased urine output and low blood pressure also might be the severe side effects of dehydration. As to sensitivity to light, there is direct connection between the two.

Well, of course, dehydration can lead to sensitivity to light. So you need just pay more attention to your eyes. And you should know that dehydration occurs when the amount of water leaving the body is greater than the amount being taken in, for the body is very dynamic and always changing. And when dehydration happens in your body, it will also affect your eyes leading to some eye problems, such as dry eyes, watery eyes, and sensitivity to light. Also, in some cases, red eyes, bloodshot eyes can be possible too. Anyway, just have the water balance in your body.

Overuse of eyes such as reading or working before computers or in dry circumstances for too long can lead to dehydration of eyes. There are several side effects of eye dehydration such as feeling eyes itchy and dry, sensitivity to eyes, blurry vision, and so on and so forth. If the condition of dehydration is serious, the eye sockets may become deep into the chin owing to the decrease of water in intercellular space. In case of dehydration, you should allow your eyes to have enough rest, for example, take a break when you have read or work for an hour and drink some water or eat some fruits or do some eye exercises. Besides, if you feel quite dry in your eyes, you had better use some eye drops to moisten your eyes. Put foods which are rich in vitamins A such as carrots and animal livers into your daily diets. Pay attention to personal eye hygiene and do not wipe your eyes with your hands. If your working environment is too dry, you had better usually wash your face or put a humidifier on your desk to improve the humidity in the room.
