Compared with bifocal contact lanses, multifocal contact lenses have multiple levels of corrective power. They work just depend on different types of lenses, such as,simultaneous and translating.Translating ,just like bifocals, have two different areas of power, which can not used for computer.Simultaneous have different levels of power in various areas that can alternate through the lens. So you may find difficult getting used to this kind of lenses.

Multifocal contact lenses have a gradual vision shift in power across the lens, then your eyes can focus near, far and every point easily because this kind of contact lenses will lead to a natural transition in your focus. Then you get the clear vision.

Multifocal contact lenses work almost the same as the multifocal eyeglasses lenses or progressives.
