  Cataract surgery can change your eyeglass prescription, but it is not the necessary procedure. If you want t change your eyeglasses prescription, you'd better consult and discuss thoroughly with your optometrist and your ophthalmologist to make the proper decision regarding your desired post-operative eyeglass prescription. Once the decision is made, your eyeglasses prescription should be like that after the surgery.

  It will depend on you. If you want to change your prescription, then your eye surgeon will change the prescription as you desire. If you don't want to change your current prescription, then your prscription can still be unchanged.
