The redness is usually the first sign of pink eye. Most people find they have pink eye by seeing the redness in their eyes. If you don't know how to tell if you are having pink eye, here are some information. Eye redness (hyperemia). Swollen, red eyelids. More tearing than usual. Feeling as if something is in the eye (foreign-body sensation or keratoconjunctivitis). An itching or burning feeling. Mild sensitivity to light (photophobia). Drainage from the eye.
