Why do I have Distorted Vision after Cataract Surgery?

I had cataract surgery 10 days ago, 5 days after the cataract surgery my vision was slightly distorted. When I look at someone's face their head appears narrow and pinched looking. I am going to have my other eye done too, and I am quite worried.

It is called dysphotopsia. For most people, the unwanted change is vision goes away within 3 to 4 weeks. Ophthalmologists estimate that only about 1 in 1,000 will need a second intraocular lens exchange to correct the problem. However, about 1 in 10 want it. Your distorted vision might be caused by the inflammation in the vitreous gel in the back of your eye or the retina if you haven't been treated with anti-inflammatory medications during the cataract surgery. Now you should talk with a retinal specialist as soon as possible in order to determine the best treatment.
