Zeaxanthin is a type of carotenoid which plays an important role in maintaining eye health. Zeaxanthin functions as an antioxidant to reduce the risk of oxidative damage, thus it can prevent age related macular degeneration (AMD). Besides, it can reduce the risk of cataracts. So to keep eye healthy, you should eat many orange and yellow fruits and vegetables which contain rich Zeaxanthin. Doing this can prevent damage to the eyes.
