I like to make up my eyes with mascara. I use mascara yesterday afternoon. And my eyes started to tear and got swollen right now. What should I do? Is there any way that can help me treat the swollen eyes caused by mascara?

You must clean your eyes first to wash out all mascara on your eyes. Then wrap pieces of ice in paper towels and place it on your closed eyes for a few minutes. It will reduce the swollen eyes quickly, but can't cure red eyes. Besides, you can also use sliced cucumbers or tea bags to place on your closed eyes. It will be helpful to reduce swelling and redness.

Your symptom is caused by the sensitive physique. If you want to release the swollen eyes, you can use the cromolyn sodium eye drops. You can also add a steroid hormone eye water such as dexamethasone eye water or cortisone eye water. All these are aimed at release the allergic symptoms. At last, I suggest you use the mascara as little as possible which may make your eyes feel not good.

For your situation, there are some tips which can be used by you. First, you can wrap some pieces of ice in paper towels, and then place them on your eyelids for a few minutes. In this way, the cold will reduce the swelling. Second, you also can give your eyes a salt bath by soaking cotton pads in a saline solution or a solution of one teaspoon of salt in one pint of hot water. Just Place the pads on your puffy eyelids for a few minutes. If there is still some pain, maybe you should go and see a doctor. So that you can make sure there is no big problem in your eyes.

Actually, using mascara too much will result in swollen eyes, for your eyes will suffer from such chemicals and don't have much time to rest. My advice is that you should reduce the time of using mascara so as to relax your eyes, in the mean time, you should get adequate sleep on a daily basis. Also, try to drink less water before going to bed. Hope you can be better in no time.

Well, throwing your mascara away, then make an appointment with your doctor to make sure you don't have a deep tissue infection which could be causing that kind of a reaction. also, not purchasing mascara and chucking the old one every six months causes bacteria to build up on the wand and when you apply your makeup you run the risk of putting those bacteria into your eye.
