Well, generally speaking, corneal ulcer can be dangerous, for it may lead to blindness. First, you should know that when the clear coating and cornea has been rubbed or irritated by some bacteria, you will see a small tear or cut in your eyes. That can be eye ulcers. At that moment, you can use a cold compress and Ibuprofen to prevent eye pain. Or just go and see the eye doctor. By the way, blepharitis is one of the most common eye infections and often extremely irritating. So it is possible to have corneal ulcers when you get blepharitis. anyway, just be careful about it.

Corneal ulcer is an open sore on the cornea, most cases of which are caused by infections. There are mainly three types of causes for corneal ulcer. 1. Bacterial infection, which is very common for people wearing contact lenses. 2. Viral infection, includes herpex simplex virus and varicellar virus. 3. Fungal infection together with over-use of contact lenses and eye drops with steroids might cause this condition too. Injuries or trauma to eyes could make it easier to get corneal ulcer. What are symptoms of corneal ulcer? With corneal ulcer, you might develop redness, pain, foreign body sensation, tearing, pus or thick discharge, blurry vision, swollen eyelids and a white or grey spot on the cornea is visible. Once you feel severe pain in eyes, or obvious discharge from eyes, or any serious symptoms stated earlier you got, it is time to see a doctor. You could adapt some home care actions to help. Don’t wear contact lense until you are completely healed. Apply cool compress on the infected eye to help relieve. Don't touch or rub your eyes, especially with hands which are not completely cleansed.

Once the person gets the corneal ulcer, he will feel so uncomfortable and painful. In addition, the ugly look will make he feel ashamed. Thus, he has to accept the treatment as soon as possible. Before the serious problem, he should better get the medical treatment to cure it. Or else, it may cause other eye problems.
