  Yes,witch hazel can help people with eye stye with little if any side effect. You can soak a cotton pad or ball in witch hazel and place the cotton over your closed eyes. With the use of witch hazel, you still can not rub your eyes. Witch hazel is prescribed and you can buy witch hazel at the super market and or a drug store

It is a powerful medication to treat swollen eyelids and stye. Take a cotton ball and soak it in refrigerated with hazel. When using witch hazel for the treatment of stye, it is essential to keep the eyes closed, as this herbal remedy will cause a burning sensation if it goes into the eyes. Keep these cotton balls over the affected eye for 10-20 minutes daily.
