People with diabetes should have a comprehensive dilated eye exam once a year. Diabetes can be hardly noticed because it shows no symptoms in the early time. And an early detection and timely treatment can prevent vision loss. Moreover, people with diabetes should quit smoking because smoking can damage your blood vessels and increase the risk of eye problems, especially for people with diabetes.
