There have five layers of your cornea, from the top to the bottom the composites are: Epithelium, Bowman layer, stroma, Descemet's membrane and endothelium. The tiny scratch, if it only injures the epithelial cells, it will be recovered within 7 to 8 hours later, just because these cells have the strong regeneration ability. It has nothing serious at all; you can keep good sleep and relax your cornea. However, if the parts of injury are from Bowman layer to the bottom layers, it will affect the vision in a long time. You could take care of your eyes and keep it away from eyes fatigue, keep distance from the TV and computer. Don't rub your eyes and take some eyes drops. If the situation is serious than slightly scratch to Bowman layer till the deeper layers, go to doctor for check and keep eyes hygiene.

It will be dangerous for you if you don't treat the scratched cornea. You could use some eye drops with anti-inflammation to cure the scratched cornea. You may find that the scratched cornea will heal by itself if you have the good habit of life. You should not drink or smoke during that time. You'd better eat the light food with vitamin C to moisture the eyes.

Yes, it could be very dangerous if you don’t treat it. Cornea is a dome-shaped clear protective covering on the surface of eyes, which is said to be the window of eye. Contact with dust, sands, or a piece of paper can cause cornea scratched or cut. Scratched cornea usually is superficial, named as corneal abrasion in medical terms. Leaving the scratched cornea with no treatment probably lead to corneal ulcer If you feel bad, you could take some actions to help it heal. Use some saline solution to rinse eyes completely. Blink more than normal to help lubricant eyeball and remove small object out of eyes. Try to pull upper eyelids over the lower eyelids so that the lower lashes can help brush foreign objects out. Don’t try to rub your eyes, which makes the scratching worse. Usually uncomplicated scratched cornea will heal in 24-48 hours. Symptoms of corneal abrasion might include grittiness, pain, watering, redness, sensitivity to light, blurry vision and even headache. However if you still feel bad after 24-48 hours, you need to visit your ophthalmologist at your earliest in case it gets to any worse place.
