Is it safe to use lubricating eye drops everyday?

I often use lubricating eye drops every day even though my eyes are in good condition. Should I only use them when my eyes get dry?

    Most lubricating eye drops contain preservative which is not good to your eyes. So it is better to use them when you need. Also too much eye drops will affect the normal producing of tears.

    If they are preservative free, then you can use them everyday. If they aren't artificial tears, then only use them when you need them. Otherwise you may become immune when you really need them.
