What is the difference between viral pink eye and bacterial pink eye?

I heard that pink eyes can be divided into viral pink eye and bacterial pink eye. So, what are their differences?

    The pink eyes are commonly known as the infectious conjunctivitis. It is also called outbreak. As an acute infectious ophthalmia, it can be caused by different causes. It can be divided into bacterial conjunctivitis and viral conjunctivitis. These two kinds own the similar clinical symptoms. The bacterial pink eyes are caused by the coming side of the bacterium which let the eyes get infection and inflammation. While the viral pink eyes can be contagious from the people with pink eyes. The viral conjunctivitis can be happened all the year round, especially in spring season during which the bacterium is active. In summer, it is also easy to get the viral pink eyes through the contact with the people with pink eyes by sharing the same towel or other things. It is widely happened in public places.

Firstly, viral pink eye is the most common cause of pink eye and can originate from a variety of viruses. Viral pink eye is highly contagious and can result in epidemics. But bacterial pink eye is caused by a bacterial infection. Bacterial infections are the leading cause of children being absent from school or daycare. Secondly, in most cases, viral pink eye requires no treatment and will generally run begin to clear within three to five days. However, bacterial pink eye requires treatment and depending on the severity of the infection, the symptoms can last weeks. Of course, there are other differences between them.
